It all started on a campout, sitting on the bank of a beautiful river in Eastern Oklahoma. Sue had already started working on some ideas she had for helping her own children with their difficulties in reading, and convinced Ron and me that it would just take 6 weeks to finish the phonics program. So we loaded up and arranged to house set for some missionary friends for a couple of months. We didn’t even have a computer, but used a label maker, a copy machine, scissors and glue. 6 years, 3 babies, and 28 house setting jobs later, we finished not only the Alphabet Island Phonics Program, but a States and Capitals game, Kinder-Math, Considering God’s Creation and then more recently a Bible history called Remembering God’s Awesome Acts. We learned that Thomas Edison’s definition of Genius is really true--5% inspiration and 95% perspiration. We couldn’t have done it without our family’s support and God’s grace. I look back on that time now and am amazed at what God allowed us to accomplish. Twelve years ago we had the vision of a business that could include our whole family, that would allow us to travel and that would be a ministry to further the Kingdom of God and help families teach their children at home. This summer felt like that dream come true. We traveled in our van from coast to coast and attended homeschool conferences across the southern part of the United States. It was a wonderful time for our family and a letter I got recently was a real encouragement as well. (maybe read letter)
